The Ronnie Wood Show
Episode 1 - Alice Cooper
Sky Arts 1 Premier Broadcast
Friday 24th February 2012

Sky Arts 1 (DVB-C)Philips stand alone DVD rec>Authored using MMEP

DVD split into 7 chapters.
Run time - 00:27:46

Some words from Sky Arts 1 webpage:
Ronnie Wood's first guest is Alice Cooper who shares many a memory with Wood. “It was always a party when Ronnie was in town,” Cooper remembers.
He also reveals Wood and his band’s habit of wrecking hotel suites. “What people don’t realise about the Faces is that they were the all-time champion room destroyers; no one was better at destroying rooms,” he says.
In the intimacy of the recording studio, Wood and Cooper also discuss the influence of the Detroit rock scene, their initial reactions to Iggy Pop’s music and peanut butter-smeared body, and Cooper’s famous stage stunts, including one with a sword that secretly went very wrong.

Notes:

Keep in mind that every thing I state hereafter is my best guess extrapolated from years of listening to AC and to listening to various roio's. I have no insider information and cannot verify most of what I will state.
It is just my opinion - if anyone out there can provide additional information or opinion, that would be great. I implore you, oh faithful and dedicated Alice fan, though, please be clear if it's opinion that you are contributing or if indeed you have information to add and then give some background - please!

Ok, here goes....

Tracks 1-4 Early '68 sounds more like studio demos than a rehearsal, I'd say these are from after the move out to California
Track 5 maybe '67, sounds more Nazz than Alice Cooper
Track 6 sounds early ('66 or '67) maybe a rehearsal
Track 7 definitely a different take than the single that was later included in the box set. As well, Vince's vocals are panned hard right and music is panned hard left
Track 8 embryonic version of Public Animal #9
Track 9-14 Sounds like a very early live gig (Summer of '66)
Tracks 15-16 Another early live gig but different sound quaility than the previous tracks - same time frame though
Track 17 sounds like a rehearsal. Who ever put this tape together originally, looped this 4x (but cut in different places) making it sound like multiple takes. I hate when people fuck around like that.

While this material is rare and offers a part of the early history, sound quality makes it for the hardcore fan and the incurably curious only. It ranges but is generally a challenging listen.

Notes:  Alice's set opening for Motley Crue.  I didn't know there was actually going to be
another opening band, The Raskins, until I got there.  I ended up not taping their set as I
was standing in line at the concession stand when they started, and I didn't want to get
an incomplete recording.  As usual, Alice puts on a great show including the theatrics even
when he's not the headliner.

Headline act on day 2 of the Festival.
A lot of people came out to see Alice and some were very drunk.

Since the Swedish Goverment have put a limit on how loud a concert
can be, you will hear people talk and scream on the recording,
and I was about 20 meter from the big speakers.

I think the setlist was really good and it was a good show.

Notes:
So, a bit of a story before I get to the goods. I'd been planning to go to the show in Verona on Monday, but hadn't actually got my tickets yet. I'd seen the Red Bank show, but didn't tape that one as I went with a couple friends, so we were just having a good time. It comes to be Friday, the day before this Morristown show and just for kicks I check tickets to this one - pulled up 3rd row. Seeing as all that was available for Verona was back of the venue (Which were STILL $70), it made for a very easy choice to drive back down to Jersey for the second time in 5 days.

Now, that said - the crowd is lively at times since I recorded this from the 3rd row. In between songs, you'll hear a couple comments from people around me. Occasionally, you'll hear a whistle or whatnot. The pyro bursts were extremely loud, and those peaked out my mics at the end of Poison. And when the crowd was instructed to clap, you'll hear clapping (Luckily, in time for the most part!). The bass was quite heavy at this gig, and as such the low end is distorted here. Otherwise, I think it came out pretty decent for taping right underneath the stacks!

RE-UP: Alice Cooper live in Wilkes-Barre 2013 - 2CD - October 18

Alice Cooper
FM Kirby Center,

October 18, 2013

Recorded by bcironmaiden - Good Sound , recorded from front center Mezz , no clappers or singers just Alice !!!

Great show by Alice , I took my daughters ( THEY LOVE ALICE ) .... Had a great time , tried to video but got shut down after House Of Fire  ( quietly ), Oh well  , I gave it a go.
I really enjoyed the covers from Alice , most other bands I would not want to hear it , but I thought it was pretty cool that Alice did something out of the ordinary ....  That being
said , I hope this is just a special tour for his covers album and he goes back to his originals .

Very good Alice Cooper show.  Clear recording.  Didn't do much with it after recording other than a small boost to the mids to bring the vocals forward a bit.  This was billed as the Raise The Dead Tour and features a four-song tribute to classic Rock heroes Jim Morrison, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, and Keith Moon.

length: 97min.

Finally! It took nearly four years for me to get to hear this gig again, I didn´t tape it and it didn´t seem like anyone else had done so. I asked around on facebook and lo and behold the reply came from an unexpected and quite close source. It´s not a perfect recording by any means but it´s listenable and its a joy to relive this gig - held almost exactly 35 years after Alice´s swedish debut in the same venue (just off by a week!).

Thanks to RKW for lending me his master and letting me share it here for everyone to enjoy. A real treat!

The left channel was quite hissy so I did a slight eq which removed the top of the hiss (but nothing else) whilst massively enhancing the listening experience. This is otherwise the untouched master, complete with warts and all.

Lastly, Alice had a sore throat at this gig and in Copenhagen the day after so he cut three songs from the set incl. B$B! Yes - it´s one of the EXTREMELY few gigs Alice has done since 1973 without playing that song (not including the 1980 tour on which it was not performed). The other two cut songs were Cold Ethyl and Raped & Freezin´.

setlist:
