This one was recorded before I got my first "real" rig. I used an old GE (I think) recorder with a built in microphone that I also used to record lectures at Ohio State. As such, it sounds pretty bad. I'm hopefull there are some die-hard Alice collectors that can get some use out of this. Anyway, enjoy this one!

I have been recording shows since the mid 1980's. Many of these shows were traded and widely circulated on cassette tape back in the day. This effort is to create a fresh transfer of my master recordings from the original media and provide an unaltered version (except volume boost if needed and/or fade) of these shows.

Me, personally - I love Alice Cooper, all eras. That being said I mainly collect the years 196? - 1982. There are too many recordings from later tours for me to be really interested.

This is a pretty good show, and the quality is good! The setlist is awesome, some rare vintage gems (for the time) and the new stuff which is really cool live. Now if only a video would surface from this tour......ah well.....

A good recording, but lots of audience participation.

Sony TC-152SD Tape Recorder
Sony ECM-99 Stereo Microphone
Maxell cassettes

Dan Lampinski recorded over 100 concerts in the Providence/Boston area, mostly between 1974 and 1978.  His earliest recordings were made with an internal microphone deck, and though they are somewhat lo-fi compared to his later work, some very great moments in rock history were captured for posterity.  In late 1974 he bought a Sony TC-152SD tape recorder, a Sony ECM-99 stereo microphone, and began using Maxell cassettes.  He was also fortunate enough to have a friend who provided excellent taping seats for many shows, resulting in high quality recordings.  In 1977, he switched over to a Nakamichi 550 tape recorder, two Nakamichi CM-300 microphones, and continued using Maxell cassettes.

He recorded many of the major 70's bands:  Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, ELP, Kiss, Black Sabbath, The Who, Al Stewart, Alice Cooper, Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen, Supertramp, Jean-Luc Ponty, Moody Blues, Neil Young, The Faces, Rush, Rick Wakeman, Kansas, as well as several "under the radar" acts.

Since Dan never traded copies of his recordings, they are all essentially uncirculated.  Some copies were made for friends, but these releases are the first time most of these recordings have ever seen the light of day, and are direct from his master cassettes.  No EQ'ing has been done to any of the transfers.  Feel free to EQ, matrix, patch, etc and re-post if you like, just give Dan credit for the original recording.

Dan was very meticulous about taking good care of his tapes and is very pleased that these recordings will now circulate among the trading community.

It's another ACG recording that is ever so rare. I'd like to say I had something to do
with this too, but I got this in the mail from an old guy in Norway that doesn't fess
up to recording it (but he did...smile). Me thinks this is this best quality audience
show out there from the School's Out 1972 Tour. Minimal audience chatters.

The original Alice Cooper Band on the tour supporting the album, "Killer". I was at this show. Along with Alice Cooper, Edgar Winter's White Trash and Blue Oyster Cult were also on the bill. Great concert. Too bad I can't say the same about the sound quality. Even though it's a very rare show, it's too many gens from the original and there are cuts between songs and "Dead Babies" isn't here. I remember them playing that because that's the reason they hung him during "Killer". Anyway, I was a big fan of the original band and was disappoined when he broke them up.

Release Notes:
In september 1969 Alice Cooper and his band were asked to perform at the Toronto rock'n'roll festival together with other well-known artists. The show was recorded but was only released in the early 80's.The Alice Cooper part was released under the title "The Toronto Rock'n'Roll Revival 1969-Volume 4"

Note that two of the songs listed on the album cover are not by Alice but by Ronnie Hawkins who had these two songs in his set at this time and who also appeared in the festival. ("Ain't that just like a woman" and "Going to the river")

Most of the songs are from the "Pretties For You" album which was out by this time in the U.S.A. but
some of the songs are listed with an incorrect song title:
  - "Painting a picture" is in fact "No longer umpire"
  - "I've written home to mother" is in fact "Lay down and die, goodbye"
  - "Freak out song" is in fact "Don't blow your mind"
  - "Science fiction" is in fact "Fields of regret"

That material was later reissued by many different record companies but always with the incorrect
information as used on the initial release back in the early 80's.
